Mark the weekend of Friday 5 May to Sunday 7 May on your calendars!
The RACCC is organizing a moving water instructor recertification and skills maintenance clinic Friday evening 5 May to Sunday May 7.
The clinic will focus on Paddle Canada’s revised moving water curriculum, sharing the participants’ own best practices and discussion of areas that require clarification to promote the consistent delivery of the Paddle Canada program. One day will focus on solo and the second on tandem skills instruction. Clinic participants will benefit from the knowledge and coaching of “local legends” Andrew Westwood, Paul Mason and Andy Convery.
The clinic will take place on Andy Convery’s property in Montebello, QC with the on-water portion on the Petite Nation River. There will be indoor accommodation for up to 16 people in the farmhouse and additional room for tents and RV’s on the property. Meals will be the responsibility of the participants.
Priority will be given to RACCC members on the clinic, but outside instructors will be welcomed to participate. Enrollment will be limited to 25 overall.
The Friday session could potentially be expanded to a full day if there is demand from participants for additional content. Kate McKerlie will be surveying club moving water instructors to establish their needs.
Cost: porbably $125 course fee plus food.
