Nature Conservancy of Canada Needs Your Help

Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is looking to purchase 120 acres (including 2.5 km of shoreline) on Whitefish Lake, 16 km north of Kingston in the Township of Rideau Lakes, Leeds County.

Why is this place so special?
It’s on the historic Rideau Waterway (a Canadian heritage river)
Sits at the heart of a key wildlife corridor that connects Algonquin Park to the Adirondack Mountains (the Frontenac Arch)
It is this slender thread that holds together the last intact north-south forest corridor in eastern North America
There is so little light pollution in this area you can see it from space as a distinctive dark spot on the Earth

NCC has a time-sensitive opportunity to acquire this important piece of the local conservation puzzle. They need to raise the remaining $142,000 by December 2017.
