Open House 2013
Our first Open House on April 5 at the RA was a great success with an excellent turnout with many people joining the club that night. Thank you to all the club volunteers and the RA staff for making this happen.
See below for photos of the Open House.

RACCC Volunteers 2013
Many hands make light work and a great canoeing community.
There are lots of ways to get involved in the club.
Many of our volunteering opportunities are short-term but can have a big and long term impact on the success of the club.
Don't Drink and Paddle
Click here for Ontario Ministry of Transportation regulations related to drinking and paddling. Penalties can include driver's licence suspension for days or months or even a lifetime ban. They make it clear that these regulations apply to the operation of both motorized and non-motorized vessels including canoes and kayaks.
The Paddle Canada policy on intoxicants is no use within 8 hours before paddling.

RACCC Social Program 2013 - NEEDS YOU!
Here is a list of all the social activities we could run in 2013.
To make this full program happen, we need volunteers to run these activities.
Look over the list, if you see something you (or you and a friend) would like to lead, let the social coordinator know (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). The social coordinator will help you to get ready for the event.
Alternatively, if you have an idea and would like to add it to the list, you can do that too. Again, just let the Social Coordinator (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) know.

Algonquin Fall Colour 2012
Xuan Q. / Photo by Robert S.
We got to the East Gate of Algonquin Park around noon Friday September 28. The plan was to have a hike at the Lookout trail first, and then get to the put in at Canoe Lake. One problem of the plan was that usually we would get our interior camping permit at the put in, which was about 30 km away from the hiking trail, but a permit was required in order to use park facilities. At the East Gate, park staff told us that we could buy a day pass at $16, and then at our put in when getting our camping permit, we could return the day pass and get our money back. The advice worked.
