Four Winds Voyageur Canoe Brigade 2017:  Traveling ancient routes to celebrate our heritage and hope for reconciliation.

At 3:00PM on July 1, 2017- Canada Day,  250 paddlers from four voyageur canoe brigades converged at Asinabke (Victoria Island ) in the Ottawa River at the foot of Canada’s Parliament Hill.

It was exciting! Flags and emotions flying, 30 Voyageur canoes pulled up on shore, greetings, stories, ceremonies and celebrations filled the moment.

We invite you to hear stories from the Four Winds Voyageur Canoe Brigades: North, South, East and West ‘Winds’…. journeys on ancient waterways, paddling in respect and friendship, challenging waves, wind and weather.... and  our hopes for Canada for the next 150 years.

We invite you to dream of Voyageur Canoe Brigades in  2018 !

Manadjitoda kina kego! Let us esteem all things (in nature)
