Bloodvien & Anderson Rivers

February 04, 2020 – 7PM / RA Centre Outaouais Room

Anderson River: 4+ weeks of feeding bugs, watching for bears, paddling into the wind and finding songs to paddle to, to wake up with, to portage to. Was it wimpy or wise?

The Bloodvein River is wild and exciting, offering a series of outstanding whitewater rapids (up to 89) in a remote wilderness setting with Bald Eagles attending at every corner.   Six paddlers from the RACCC traveled from Artery Lake (Ontario) to Lake Winnipeg (Manitoba) in July 2019, with glorious sunshine for 13/14 days. We had sightings of beautiful pictographs as well as plentiful wildlife: wolves, bears, otters, sandhill cranes, good fishing and more.
