MKC Open Canoe Slalom Race August 13th 2014
August 13th is the second MKC(Madawaska Kanu Centre) Open Canoe Slalom Race of 2014. This is a solo and tandem race open to all and it is the final test for those who attended the 3-day Open Canoe Slalom Camp, with US Open Canoe champion, Dana Henry.
Race setup is at 12:00 pm and the race starts at 1:00 pm. Parking is available on the road in front of the MKC Chalet. The purpose of these races is to have fun so anyone can participate. There is usually a range of paddling talent from first timers to canoeing legends and MKC (ringers) staff. This race is free, though in support of MKC hosting these events, I would recommend that you check out the River Shop and Riverside Café. There is also the option to stay and dine with the MKC guests at Bark Lake.
