June 26-July 1 : Hudson QC to Ottawa

cap to cap parliament hillSixteen RACCC members will paddle as part of the Four Winds Voyageur Brigades involving over 200 paddlers from across Canada.  The North, South, East and West Wind brigades will be traveling ancient routes along the 4 directions, to gather at 3:00 PM on July 1st in Ottawa at Askinabke - Victoria Island - a place where where people have gathered for at least 5,000 years. Follow our progress with first message having already appeared on June 25 - click here**. Hopefully we can post some pictures and stories on the RACCC Facebook page.  IF you want to see us arrive - great! It will be a crowded July 1st anywhere in downtown Ottawa. Join us by canoe if you can. More information about the Four Winds Brigade - click here. Our mission is to draw attention to the need for the spirit of reconciliation: to see a Canada where all cultures can work and live together in peace, harmony and justice.  This trip celebrates the historical and ecological significance of rivers like the Ottawa, Rideau and Gatineau that connect our communities, our ecosystems, and our people through time and geography and, at the same time, draw attention to the need to protect them.

Starting west of Montreal in Hudson to arrive in Ottawa on July 1st behind Parliament Hill to gather with the voyageur canoe brigades from the North, South and West Winds. RACCC Pub Night - Fri May 26 - 8:30pm

Come join us at our second social event of the season!

In conjunction with the scheduled Boathouse Orientation evenings, the club invites you to get together with RACCC members. Meet us in the RA Fieldhouse for beer and appetizers in a reserved seating area for our group.

All members --new and returning -- are invited to come out, to welcome new members and reconnect with friends. It will be a chance to learn more about the club and get to know the people that make it such a success. One of those rare moments we can get everyone in the club in the same place at once!

Boathouse orientation sessions will end at around 8:30, and attendees and trainers are invited to join us then. Other members are welcome to come out earlier, and get things going! A great way to bring in the new season! Click here for contact information.
