French River Trip Report 2017
Six club members did a 10 day trip on the French River and its delta starting at Hartley Bay Marina in late July. Except for two very windy days and occasional rain (but only after the tents were set up!), the weather was very good. One large rattlesnake was found on a hike. Sadly, a small dead rattlesnake was also found and brought back to the campsite. The resident brown weasel carried the small snake away overnight. When another small snake was not forthcoming the following night, he repeatedly charge one of the tents making loud huffing noises. At the last campsite, a large water snake spent all afternoon sunning itself on the rocks. Click "Read More" for more photos of the trip.
